Leukoplakia is a white patch which can occur in the oral cavity. It is often caused by chronic irritation or infection but can also be a cancerous or precancerous lesion.

Oral lesions (mouth sores) make it painful to eat and talk. Two of the most common recurrent oral lesions are fever blisters (also known as cold sores) and canker sores.
